Vein Care Treatments

Examination of varicose veins on the woman's legsVaricose veins and the associated pain are not issues you have to live with. There are several very effective treatment options available. If you suffer from the painful symptoms of varicose veins, you know all too well the strain it can put on your life. While they may be considered cosmetic for some, they are a medical condition that cause real symptoms such as pain. The vascular surgeons and physicians at the El Paso Varicose Veins Laser Clinic can help you find the relief you are looking for. Take a look at these treatment options and how they can help.

Endovenous Laser Ablation

This type of treatment is ideal for large, bulging veins. The cause of these bulging veins is the abnormal venous valve reflux. This is a great alternative to the now obsolete surgical stripping. The physician can conduct Endovenous Laser Ablation under local anesthesia without hospital admittance. It takes under an hour to complete as well. The physician uses ultrasound guidance to guide him or her and complete the treatment. They thread a small laser fiber into the bad vein. Then laser energy is sent into the fiber. This causes the vein to close and then the fiber is withdrawn.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

A doctor  removes the varicose vein through tiny punctures. This procedure is also done under an hour and on an outpatient basis. This option is great because patients return to normal activity right away.

Sclerotherapy

During this process, the vein specialist will inject a small amount of “sclerosing” liquid into the diseased vein. The vein shrinks, closes, then disappears. This treatment is best for spider veins and small varicose veins. It can require multiple sessions depending on the number of bad veins on the legs. Again, this procedure is quick and conducted at our clinic without a hospital stay. It only takes about 20 minutes to complete.
